BREAKING: Veteran Actor, Amaechi Muonagor, Dies at 62

Amaechi Muonagor, a 62-year-old Nollywood actor, has away due to a prolonged illness.

Morris Monye, a social analyst, announced this on Sunday via his X Twitter.

Muonagor was believed to have kidney failure and was undergoing dialysis.

Following a viral video in which he requested funds for a kidney transplant, he passed away unexpectedly.

Monye wrote, “Deeply heartbroken by the news of Amaechi Muonagor’s passing.

“He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful.

“We watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India.

“This tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Muonagor was born on August 20, 1962, in Idemili, Anambra state.

He was an actor and producer. In 2016, he was nominated for the AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in a Comedy.

Muonagor began working for the Nigerian News Agency in 1989, after completing his youth service. He left his job a few years later to play Akunatakasi in his first movie, Taboo 1, a Nigerian film.
