Nigerian singers Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema have been tapped to headline the NBA All-Star Game 2023, so expect an Afrobeats-themed performance. Following Sunday’s performance, the NBA family will honor Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for becoming the league’s all-time scoring leader, according to a statement from the NBA.
Following the first-ever in-arena NBA All-Star Draft, superstar Post Malone will perform a medley of hits prior to the All-Star Game’s tip-off, according to the statement. Vin Diesel, the star of Fast and Furious, will greet visitors.
On Sunday for the NBA All-Star Game, Grammy Award-nominated singer Jewel from Payson, Utah, will perform the U.S. national anthem, while artist Jully Black will perform the Canadian national anthem.
Before the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars game on Friday, Utah singing group The Bonner Family will perform the American national anthem. The group will also perform the American and Black national anthems, “Lift Every Voice,” at the NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T, which begins on Saturday, February 18.
The 72nd NBA All-Star Game will take place at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT.
