Chowdeck Hits N30 Billion in Deliveries and Welcomes 1 Million Users in 2024

Chowdeck, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing food delivery platforms, has achieved a significant milestone by exceeding N30 billion in deliveries this year.

This was disclosed by Femi Aluko, the company’s CEO and co-founder. The achievement demonstrates how swiftly the platform is growing and gaining impact in Nigeria’s food service industry.

Aluko took to social media to celebrate Chowdeck’s success. He mentioned that the platform now has more than a million registered users.

“Last week, we reached one million registered users on Chowdeck.” In the same week, we reached N30 billion in deliveries for 2024,” he tweeted.

Aluko reflected on the company’s path, recalling how Chowdeck began with only 319 users in its first month and has since grown to over a million as it approaches its third anniversary.

He attributed the team’s achievement to the hard work of its partners and users. “We are grateful for the opportunity to establish this company.

We now service over 3,000 businesses, 10,000+ riders, and over a million people in eight Nigerian states,” he stated. “We’ve learnt a lot and are eager about what comes ahead. “This is just the beginning.”

Chowdeck raised $2.5 million in seed capital earlier this year to help it grow and develop. In April, Nairametrics reported funding from prominent investors such as Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, and FounderX Ventures.

The round also included prominent personalities in the digital and delivery industries, such as the co-founders of Latin America’s largest delivery platform, Rappi, and the co-founders of Paystack, Shola Akinlade and Ezra Olubi.

Chowdeck was founded in October 2021, during the COVID-19 lockdown in Lagos, and has quickly risen to become a major participant in Nigeria’s food delivery sector.

The platform presently serves eight major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt, and has over 3,000 riders.

According to the company, its riders are paid similarly to top government personnel, demonstrating how the platform is helping to create jobs in Nigeria.

The fresh funding has enabled Chowdeck to increase its footprint in existing locations while also preparing for development into new areas.

As the company expands, it is positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s food delivery and logistics sectors, with big aspirations for the future.

With excellent alliances, stable funding, and a rising user base, Chowdeck is poised to continue revolutionizing Nigeria’s meal delivery business.
