The recently opened Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals would aid Nigeria in producing more energy for its electricity sector, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Dangote Refinery is anticipated to produce 12,000 megawatts of electricity, according to Governor of the Apex Bank, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, who was speaking today at the inauguration in Lagos State.
He added that once activities start going, Nigerians will have access to around 135,000 permanent jobs.
He added that it is anticipated that the refinery will help Nigeria save between $25 and $30 billion in foreign currency each year.
The refinery, according to Emefiele, will continue to inject $10 billion annually into the economy, much like a venture that never stops giving.
The Dangote Refinery, in his view, is proof that Nigeria is capable of producing anything it requires.
