Davido, Lojay Become the Latest Nigerian Artists to Debut on Billboard Hot 100

Davido and Lojay are the newest Nigerian acts to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

The two made their debut chart performances with featured credits on Chris Brown’s hit single ‘Sensational’.

‘Sensational’ currently ranks 96th on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Brown’s 11th studio album, named ’11:11′, featured the track ‘Sensational’ released last year.

Billboard also said that ‘Sensational’ received “15.7 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 14%) and 2.6 million official U.S. streams (up 3%) during the January 19 to 25 tracking week.”

‘Sensational’ has risen from 11th to 9th on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, 16th to 10th on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and 16th to 14th on Rhythmic Airplay.

It also debuted at number 30 on Adult R&B Airplay. On the all-format Radio Songs list, it moved up from 49th to 44th.

Davido has 25 songs on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs list, placing him fourth behind Burna Boy (44), Asake (34), and Wizkid (27).

Davido’s chart entries include ‘Stand Strong’ ft. Sunday Service Choir (2022), ‘Unavailable’ ft. Musa Keys (No. 3, 2023), and ‘Over Dem’ (No. 10, 2023).

Since 2016, Davido has charted 27 songs on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

Davido and Lojay have joined Burna Boy, Tems, Wizkid, Rema, Ckay, and Fireboy among Nigerian artists to enter the Billboard Hot 100.

Davido’s fourth album, ‘Timeless’, has been named one of the top 50 albums of 2023 by Billboard.
