Delta Concert: Davido Challenges Pinnick’s N2.3 Billion ‘Contract Breach’ Suit

Amaju Pinnick, a former head of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has filed a N2.3 billion lawsuit against Davido, the Afrobeats star.

Pinnick filed a complaint on October 31, stating that Davido violated a contract to appear at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again’ event in Delta on October 6, 2023.

He alleged that Davido failed to present at the event despite receiving a $94,500 payment.

He further claimed that he spent an additional $18,000 on a private jet leased to transfer Davido and his team, who did not show there.

During a recent hearing, Davido, through his legal team led by Norrison Quakers (SAN), contested the Delta state high court in Effurun’s jurisdiction to hear the case.

They contended that the case should be considered as a debt collection matter, and that Pinnick should have issued a demand letter before taking legal action.

Davido’s lawyers also contested that Sosoberokon was his authorized agent, despite the fact that he signed the contract on his behalf.

They also denied Pinnick’s assertion that the payment was for performance rather than promotional services.

The presiding judge, however, postponed the court’s decision on the preliminary objections made in both cases until December 14, 2023.

The Afrobeats musician had previously made a thinly veiled dig at Pinnick, while also promising his Warri followers a show soon.
