Federal University Lokoja Rewards Outstanding Students with N1 Million Each

The Federal University Lokoja has awarded one million Naira cheques to the top two graduating students who excelled in the sixth and seventh convocations.

Zafirah Eneyamire Isah, the finest graduating student in the 2020/2021 Accounting Department, and Mariam Oiza Ibrahim from the Chemistry Department, are the two exceptional students.

Rt. Hon. Dr. James Faleke pledged the monies for these excellent students during the recently finished 6th and 7th convocations.

During the check presentation, Prof. Akinwunmi Olayemi, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, expressed his gratitude to Hon. Faleke for honoring his commitment. He underlined that this incentive will serve as a motivator for other pupils to perform hard.

The Vice-Chancellor urged all students, especially men, to stay focused and work hard. He congratulated the two female recipients and encouraged them to continue pursuing academic success.

Prof. Olayemi also recommended the winners to spend the money properly, recommending that they use it to pursue postgraduate degrees. Furthermore, he stated that the university’s policy is to hire the brightest postgraduate students when needed and if they continue to thrive.

Prof Olayemi went on to say that in the future, graduates of the school would be considered for jobs inside the university system, and he asked Hon. James Faleke to make this award an annual event to boost academic competitiveness.

Zafirah Eneyamire Isah, the best graduating student in 2020/2021, and Mariam Oiza Ibrahim, the best graduating student in 2021/2022, thanked Hon. Faleke for his great contribution.

Overjoyed, Zafirah Eneyamire Isah offered prayers for Hon. Faleke and promised her that the cash would be used wisely.

Mariam Oiza Ibrahim expressed her joy in her response, noting that the money will allow her to continue her education, and she thanked the benefactor for his assistance.”
