Oba Ewulomi, a self-proclaimed priest, claims he can resurrect the late Nigerian singer Mohbad.
Mohbad, real name Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12 and was buried the following day.
The circumstances surrounding the singer’s death have sparked debate on social media.
The authorities unearthed Mohbad’s body for an autopsy last Thursday and are awaiting the results.
In a recent Facebook video, Ewulomi claimed to have the ability to resurrect Mohbad.
The priest, who did not discuss his ministry on social media, stated that he “could invoke divine intervention to bring Mohbad back to life.”
He also demanded access to the singer’s corpse, saying “Mohbad can still live again”.
“Promise Imole Mohbad can still live again. Whether you have faith or not I am not concerned,” he said.
“But that boy can wake up again. Let me see the corpse of the boy. Give me access to the boy’s corpse. If truly my almighty father replies in fire, on water, in the wind, and on land, that boy will wake up again.”
The cleric’s claim comes at about the same time when Tunde Bakare, the general overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, said the late singer “reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive”.
Adetoun Onajobi, the human rights activist, also alleged she was in contact with Mohbad’s ghost.
On September 18, the Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, also engaged the Department of State Services (DSS) in the ongoing investigation.
