Early Life and Education
Kunle Iyiola Afod was born in Lagos on October 24, 1973. He is the eldest child in a family of four. He was born in Ibadan, Oyo State. He started his studies in Festac, Lagos, and finished in Owo, Ondo state. He moved to Jos after finishing elementary school to attend the Command Day Secondary School, where he earned his O’level certificate. He was raised listening to Fuji stars such as K1 De Ultimate and Alhaji Wasiu Pasuma.
Kunle began his acting career under the tutelage of Jide Ogungbade, a renowned actor who is now deceased and Kunle Afod’s master. Ben Tomoloju and Jahman Anikulapo also trained Kunle. They are both well-known figures in their respective fields. He worked with Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, in the Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group. Kunle Afod has appeared in several well-known films, including “Nkan Agba,” “Odi Ade,” and “Ofin Kokanla.”
His career as a film director has also been fruitful. He directed the popular film “Ori Eiye,” which starred Kiitan Bukola.
Kunle Afod’s wife is Desola Afod. His marriage to Desola resulted in four sons. Angel Oyinkansola Afod, on the other hand, is Kunle’s daughter from his relationship with Desola. He remembers Angel’s birthday every December 30th. Lanre Afod, Olayiwola Afod, and Adenike Afod are Kunle Afod’s siblings.
In October, 2022, Desola, the wife of Kunle Afod said she has parted ways with the actor.
Making the announcement via her verified Instagram page, Desola strangely described it as good news.
