Mercy Chinwo, a Nigerian gospel singer, and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa, have welcomed their first child together.
The singer revealed her pregnancy in a music video featuring her spouse in an Instagram post on Friday.
In an accompanying caption, the delighted mother thanked God for their new arrival.
“Lord, we are grateful; we approach Your throne with heartfelt songs of praise and thanksgiving.🕺💃,” she wrote.
She added that God has “filled our hearts with joy, our lips with testimonies, and our home with celebration.🎉 Indeed ‘you do this one’”.
Chinwo, however, did not reveal the name or gender of her child.
Fans and celebrities have congratulated the pair in the post’s comments section.
On June 23, 2022, Chinwo and Uzochikwa got engaged.
The couple married in a spectacular ceremony in the singer’s birthplace of Port Harcourt the following month.
Chinwo’s gospel music career began after she won the second season of Nigerian Idol.
Since then, she has received a massive response from gospel music fans.
The vocalist has also won various honors for her work.
Uzochikwa, often known as Pastor Blessed, is the senior pastor of Water Brook Church.
He is well-known for his inspirational and spiritual words.
