Super Eagles Striker Victor Boniface Receives Europa League Golden Boot Award

Victor Boniface of the Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen got the Golden Boot award after finishing joint best scorer in the Europa League last season.

Last season, Boniface scored six goals for Belgian team Union SG, who advanced to the quarter-finals before losing to his new club Leverkusen.

He was nominated with Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford for the honor.

Boniface received the award prior to Leverkusen’s Europa League match against Qarabag on Thursday night.

Boniface scored and and provided an assist as Leverkusen thrashed Qarabag 5-1 to record their third win in three games in the group.

It was his second goal in the Europa League and also his 10th in all competitions this season.

Leverkusen currently top the Bundesliga table on 22 points after eight games played.
