Nigerian Delegation Visits CATL To Explore Partnership For Renewable Energy Zone

A delegation led by the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, visited the Global Headquarters of CATL, the world’s largest EV battery maker, in Ningde, China early Wednesday, in a critical move for Nigeria’s renewable energy ambitions.

The group, which included Nasarawa State Governor H.E. Abdullahi Sule and Dr. Lazarus Angbazo, MD/CEO of the Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp), visited CATL’s cutting-edge production facilities. They examined the company’s automated production lines and discussed prospective collaborations.

After the visit, the team met with CATL’s Executive Management to discuss the status of Nigeria’s Evergreen City, a renewable energy technology industrial zone.

Chief Ajuri stated that CATL provided bespoke solutions and financing choices to satisfy the zone’s specific requirements. Governor Sule emphasized local policy support, while the delegation discussed how to integrate CATL’s technology with the zone’s aims.

The team expressed excitement at the prospect of working with CATL, which supplies significant firms such as Tesla and BMW. They did, however, admit the significant amount of work that was required before celebrating any actual results. Nigerians will receive updates on the project’s progress as it unfolds.
