Nigerian Man Ends 200-Hour Ironing Marathon at 142 Hours

Dauda Abdulfatai, a Nigerian man, abruptly ended his 200-hour ironing marathon effort after surpassing 142 hours of continuous ironing, in an attempt to beat Gareth Sander’s 100-hour Guinness World Record.

Medical issues and input from his support system shaped the choice.

With permission from Guinness World Records, Dauda started the marathon last Wednesday at Off Ajaokuta Road, Ganaja Village, Lokoja, Kogi State. The permission was sent by mail.

Abdulfattah El-Okene not only beat Gareth Sanders’ 2015 record for the longest ironing marathon—a 100-hour effort from the UK—but also accomplished the amazing accomplishment of ironing 2,249 garments in just 142 hours.
