The UBA’s chairman, Tony Elumelu, and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, attended the UN event.
Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the United Nations General Assembly. The president advocated for permanent seats for Nigeria and Africa on the UN Security Council.
“The security council should be expanded, in the permanent and non-permanent member categories, to reflect the diversity and plurality of the world. We fully support the efforts of secretary-general Guterres in this regard,” Tinubu said.
“Africa must be accorded the respect that it deserves in the security council. Our continent deserves a place in the permanent members category of the security council, with the same rights and responsibilities as other permanent members.”
Florence ‘DJ Cuppy‘ Otedola also made history by hosting the inaugural session of the UNGA.
Born David Adeleke, Davido rose to prominence in 2012 with the release of ‘Dami Duro’, the second single from his debut studio album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.
Since his debut album, he has released three additional projects: ‘A Good Time’ (2019), ‘A Better Time’ (2020), and ‘Timeless’ (2023).
Davido has established himself as one of Africa’s leading artists, having received numerous prizes and honorary mentions.
