WATCH: Outrage as Davido’s Aide Slaps Fan Trying to Take Photo with Him

A video wherein an aide to Davido appeared to have slapped a fan who wanted to snap a photo with the Afrobeats musician has gone popular on social media and received condemnation.

In the video, the Grammy-nominated musician is seen walking with his squad of bouncers and aides at what appears to be an event location.

A young man who appeared overjoyed to have seen the singer repeatedly shouted Davido’s name. The fan also tried to convince the Afrobeats star to appear in a video he was filming on his phone, but was turned down.

Not satisfied, the relentless fan thereafter ventured closer to obtain a decent shot with Davido the second time, consequently attracting a strong slap that knocked him out of the frame.

The incident has triggered a chorus of condemnation on social media platforms, especially X. It also stirred conversations about celebrity-fan interactions and the boundaries.

Reacting to the incident, Mr Macaroni wrote: “This is sad and highly condemnable!!! There is absolutely no need for this assault. This is dehumanizing and I speak against it because I know exactly how this feels. The change that we all seek must begin with us!!!’

The skit maker advised fans against approaching celebrities to take pictures without their permission. He also urged celebrities to treat their fans with respect.

“Please, if you must take pictures with any of your favorite celebrity, kindly seek permission so that you are not seen as a threat. Respect is reciprocal. We must respect the privacy of our celebrities and Celebrities must also learn to treat our fans with respect and dignity,” he wrote.
