Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko was born into the Lagos State royal family of Kosoko. Adekunle Gold, also known by his stage name Adekunle Gold or AG Baby, is a Nigerian musician, songwriter, and graphic designer. He began his career at a young age and rose to prominence in 2014 after releasing Sade, a cover of One Direction’s Story of My Life.
Early Life and Education
Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko was born as the first and only son of the Kosoko royal family of Lagos State on the 28th of January, 1987 in Ifako-Agege and Ikotun, Lagos State, Nigeria. He received his primary and secondary education in public schools before attending Lagos State Polytechnic, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design. He is related to veteran actor Prince Jide Kosoko, who is also a member of the Royal Kosoko family.
Career
Adekunle Gold is a very talented and handsome musician. His voice is unique and rich, and to top it all off, he is extremely talented and crafty. He worked as a sculptor and a graphic designer before becoming famous, and he was dubbed the “King of Photoshop” after posting an edited Photoshop image of himself hugging Tiwa Savage on social media platforms. Things were going well for him as a freelance graphics designer, though he hadn’t achieved everything he desired. His passion for music led him to join his church choir group, where he spent 11 years. He draws inspiration from King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, whom he listened to as a child, and he was able to write his first song.
After the release of “Sade,” Adekunle released his first official single titled “Orente” through YBNL Nation after signing a music contract with the record label on March 5, 2015, and continued to the extent of releasing his fourth album. Adekunle Gold released his long-awaited fourth studio album, “Catch Me If You Can,” on February 4, 2022, with guest appearances from Davido, Fatoumata Diawara, Lucky Daye, Stefflon Don, Foushee, and TY Dolla $ign.
Adekunle Gold’s contract with YBNL expired, and he did not renew it; instead, he founded his own record label, “The 79th Element,” named after the atomic number of gold in chemistry. His gradual success also prompted him to establish “The Afro Urban,” which he and other team members run.
His album Gold debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard World Album Chart this week, and switching from one TV station to another increases your chances of hearing him.
Adekunle Gold’s music is being played, and his album has been endorsed by Adele and other well-known celebrities.

Adekunle Gold and his heartthrob Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye (Simi) married in January 2019. The couple had been dating for over 5 years before getting married.
