Ajayi Crowther University Donates N25 Million Research Grants To Lecturers

The administration of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has identified fifty scholars as the recipients of this year’s N25 million academic research award, which was organized by Olutoyin Okeowo, the varsity’s pro-chancellor and council chairman.

The varsity administration stated in a statement that the scholars will conduct research in agriculture, humanities, engineering, and other disciplines.

According to the institution, the research award is part of its efforts to foster the discovery of new ideas, concepts, studies, and academic excellence.

According to the statement, the 50 researchers will be placed into 10 groups.

Wahab Akanbi, an agricultural professor, will lead one of the teams working on the use of cashew apple wastes to produce organic fertilizers and bio-pesticides.

Simon Okanlawon of the department of architecture will lead a team of six experts in another study to investigate the role of rural architecture in sustainable agricultural settlement in Oyo.

Similarly, Moses Adebayo of the Department of Agriculture will lead a team to evaluate premier maize genotypes for new product pipeline development for the university’s seed enterprise.

Engineering, humanities, natural sciences, arts, communications, and media studies will also be covered.

The institution further stated that the N25 million facilitated by the council chairman will be distributed to the ten groups of researchers.

All approved bids were examined to ensure their conformity with the university mandate and research objectives, according to Olumuyiwa Popoola, ACU deputy vice-chancellor and head of the awards committee.

Popoola also expressed gratitude to Folake Olanbiwoninu, the university’s interim director of research, innovation, and connections, and committee members for completing the selection process.
