Busola Tejumola Elected to Academy Responsible for Emmy Awards

The Executive Head of Content of Multichoice has been elected to the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS).

IATAS is in charge of organizing the famous International Emmy Awards, which are given out for outstanding achievements in television in the United States and around the world.

She is well-known for her work on some of the most prestigious film and television awards, as well as drama films. The highly cultural African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), Big Brother Naija, and new TV series such as Masquerades of Aniedo, Chronicles, Refuge, and the much-discussed Slum King are among them.

She enters the Academy, which has been hailed as the pinnacle of excellence in television. The elite group is stated to consist of 800 entertainment and media executives from around the world who share a passion for furthering the art and science of television.

Tejumola is the first female Nigerian on the roster of the academy’s members, joining five other Nigerians. John Ugbe, CEO of West Africa MultiChoice, John Momoh, CEO of Channels TV, Taj Adepetu, CEO of Media Conglomerate – Group8, Moses Babatope, Executive Director of FilmOne Entertainment, and Femi Odugbemi, Executive Producer of Zuri24 Media are the other five Nigerians.

As the dates for the next Emmy Awards, which are set for January 15, 2024, approach, we will be on the lookout for what this additional addition means for the Nigerian film industry as a whole.
