Michael Jackson, the late king of music, has topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid dead celebrities of 2023, earning an estimated $115 million.
The list, published on Tuesday, ranks the top 13 deceased celebrities according to their pretax profits from sales, streams, licensing deals, and other sources of income between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023.
It also covers any estate purchases made or announced during the same time period.
Jackson has held the top rank for the first time in four years.
Elvis Presley, Jackson’s late father-in-law, finished second, earning an estimated $100 million.
Prince, Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, and John Lennon are among the other deceased luminaries on the list.
The 13 late celebrities on Forbes’ 2023 list earned an estimated $470 million in the previous 12 months, a 70% reduction from the previous year.
