How My Boss Discouraged My Husband From Dating Me – Helen Paul

Helen Paul, a stand-up comedian, told how her manager tried to discourage her husband, Femi Bamisile, from marrying her.

When she was interviewed for the current episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, the Nigerian comic discussed the difficulties she had during her courting.

According to the 45-year-old, her human resource personnel at Television Continental (TVC) chastised Bamise for marrying her.

She further stated that another supervisor of hers asked if Femi was dating her or just having fun with her.

“My boss called my husband to say ‘Femi, is it that kind of Helen you want to date? You are more than this’. And he said ‘if you want to just enjoy yourself with her it is okay,” she said.

“I took Femi to my own office then in TVC. My HR looked at Femi and said ‘look at how clean you are. A lawyer. Why the choice of Helen?’”

Paul and Bamisile tied the knot in 2010. Their marriage is blessed with children.

The actress recently discussed how she overcome the societal stigma of being born from a ra-pe.

She claimed that she was frequently mocked by family members. Her grandma, on the other hand, advised her to keep focused on becoming someone meaningful in life.

Helen credits her success as “a comedian in Nigeria and a professor in the United States” to her grandmother’s instruction.
