Korra Obidi (born June 23, 1994) is a talented Nigerian musical artist, dance artist, actress, and model. Her full name is Anita Obidi Korra.

Early Life & Education

Korra Obidi was born on June 23, 1994, in Oshimili, Delta State, Nigeria, in the South-South geopolitical zone. Korra Obidi’s early life in Lagos State, Nigeria, was shaped by the circumstances of her birth, upbringing, and education. She attended Command Secondary School in Lagos State for her secondary education. She furthered her education by enrolling in the prestigious University of Education’s Business Education program.

Career

Even with so much accomplishment already added to her name and monstrous fan base earned today, the starting point wasn’t a smooth sail as she needed to hustle her way up directly from dancing in the church. She was recognized for her difficult work as a woman combined with her dance moves and stage energy that has consistently exceeded anyone’s expectations; her ability to keep you glued to her dance demonstration until she’s finished was one significant factor that built her fan base.

Korra Obidi trained in Belly Dance and Classical Odissi in Cairo and Lagos under the tutelage of Priti Mastakar in order to professionalize her dance career.

Korra Obidi debuted in music in 2015 with the release of her first official single, Man Like You, along with an Extended Play, Woman Power, a body of work that was a blend of virtually every top world-class genre, including afrobeat and R&B. Her World Cup single, Africa, which was released in 2017, received widespread acclaim, as did her 2018 release Parkwell, which reached the top four of the Nigerian music charts.

Korra Obidi, Miss Radiography 2009 at the University of Lagos, Miss Moremi 2010 at the University of Lagos, and Miss Congeniality for Miss Global Nigeria in 2014, are also models to watch. Korra Obidi was a major model in Black Eye Peas’ visual for Wings, in addition to walking the runways at GTBank Fashion Week and Port Harcourt International Fashion Week.

 

Personal Life

Korra Obidi was married to Dr. Justin Dean, a sports therapist and chiropractor. The couple were blessed with children before their separation.

Korra in a video shared on social media on Wednesday, 7th Septermber, revealed that her children have been taken away from her.

The IG influencer who recently divorced her American husband, Justin Dean broke down in tears in the video that she shared on social media.

“Don’t get divorced. It is not for the weak. Separated from your 6 months old for a whole week. I have been trying to keep my composure but last night I got broken because I saw strangers touching my child. It really broke me,” she said in a tears filled voice.

 

Recall that amidst their messy divorce battle, Korra Obidi had accused her husband of physically assaulting her.

In March 2022, Justin Dean, Korra’s husband announced that their marriage was going to come to an end. The shock announcement emerged barely two weeks after Korra welcomed their second child.
