Rita Dominic, Miss Nigeria’s actress and chairman, says the 2024 edition of the beauty contest will focus on promoting national unity.
The pageant organizers recently had their initial board meeting in Lagos, ahead of the 45th edition of Miss Nigeria.
At the meeting, the board reviewed the pageant’s direction, finance techniques, participant guidelines, and the execution of meaningful social activities.
In addition to strategic planning, the board highlighted diversity and cultural sensitivity in its planned initiatives.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the board reviewed strategies to integrate environmental sustainability programs and improve social impact efforts to gain support from many sectors.
While speaking to the board, Dominic stated that this year’s pageant will “focus on fostering national unity by celebrating our diverse cultural heritage”.
“We aim to empower young women to actively shape a positive social landscape, promoting unity and responsibility among Nigerians,” she said.
On her part, Mildred Okwo, managing director of The Audrey Silva Company (TASC), said: “Our overarching objective is to seamlessly integrate themes of cultural celebration and civic responsibility throughout the year.”
The board also revealed plans to update participant contracts, provide mental health support during the pageant period, and support the reigning queen throughout her tenure.
