Over 200,000 Sign Petition to Ban Marlian Records over Mohbad’s Death

Following the death of Mohbad, the fast-rising artist, over 200,000 people have demanded for the closure of Naira Marley’s music label, Marlian Records.

Mohbad, 27, died on Tuesday and was buried on Wednesday.

The police in Lagos have already launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of his death.

A Change.Org petition by an anonymous blogger has been initiated on the matter.

It has racked up over 200,000 signatures as of September 16.

Mohbad was feuding with Naira Marley, the artist who signed him to the Marlian label, just before his murder.

He had left the label at the height of his success to pursue a solo career.

The Change.Org petition now asks for an investigation into why Mohbad was unable to appear before the police after being summons for his squabbles with industry bosses.

It demanded a thorough study of the Marlian Music brand and music promoter Sam Larry Elegushi.

Although claims have circulated, the cause of Mohbad’s death remains unknown.

His father, Joseph Aloba, revealed that Mohbad died after an auxiliary nurse was summoned to inject him.

Omowunmi, Mohbad’s lover, also spoke of the singer’s problems when he was alive.

On Thursday, the police will announce the results of a thorough inquiry into Mohbad’s death.
