Police Exhume Mohbad’s Remains For Autopsy As Protesters Demand Justice

Police in Lagos State have excavated the corpse of singer Mohbad and are preparing to conduct an autopsy.

The musician died last week in mysterious circumstances, prompting Nigerians to protest and demand justice for Mohbad.

While the rapper, formally named as Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, was buried less than a day after his death, the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said Mohbad’s bones had been unearthed.

“Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence,” he tweeted on Thursday afternoon, days after the police began a probe into the death of the former Naira Marley signee.

The exhumation took place at the singer’s gravesite in Ikorodu’s Gberigbe region, in collaboration with local health officials.

On Monday, police in Lagos established a 13-member committee to investigate Mohbad’s death, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu requesting that the Department of State Services (DSS) join the investigation.

Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has ordered an investigation into the rapper’s passage, directing Lagos State police to conduct a comprehensive investigation.

According to Muyiwa Adejobi, spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the IGP sent a “direct and urgent directive to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, instructing him to initiate a swift and comprehensive investigation into the tragic passing” of the artist.
