Senator Elisha Abbo and Nollywood stars Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo have paid tribute to the late musician Mohbad’s family.
Mohbad, whose true name is Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, died last week, but there have been concerns about his death since then.
While Nigerians have been protesting for justice for the late rapper, Senator Abbo and Nollywood celebs paid a visit to Mohbad’s family in the Lekki region of Lagos State on Thursday to express their condolences.
Senator Abbo promised security and an investigation into the circumstances behind his son’s death to Mohbad’s mother.
The politician, who chairs the Senate Committee on Entertainment Economy, has promised to lead the push for a Creative Economy Commission.

He stated that the Commission’s goal is to resolve problems in the creative business, such as those involving record companies and artist contracts. It would also contribute in preventing circumstances in which people resort to self-help, according to Senator Abbo.
The visit is the latest in a series of requests for justice for the musician, whose death has sparked outrage. Nigerians around the country are calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Young people have taken to the streets in various towns, asking on authorities to investigate and punish anyone responsible for the singer’s death.
Prior to that, police authorities launched an investigation into his passage, with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun demanding a comprehensive investigation.
The IGP, according to Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi, issued a “direct and urgent directive to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, instructing him to initiate a swift and comprehensive investigation into the tragic passing” of the musician.
