Sound Sultan is a renowned Nigerian rapper, songwriter, singer, actor, comedian, recording artist, basketball player, businessman, and co-owner of the Lagos City Stars basketball club.

Early Life

Olanrewaju Fasasi, also known as Sound Sultan, was born on November 27th, 1976 in Plateau State, Nigeria to Mr. Fasasi Lidadi Alarape and Mrs. Fasasi Adeyinka Ajarat.

Fasasi is the fourth of his parents’ six adult children. Between 1981 and 1987, he attended Stepping Stone Nursery and Primary School for Nursery and Elementary education.

He later attended Federal Government College Ogbomoso for secondary school and Lagos State University for university. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Lagos State University.

Early Career

The Nigerian-born actor and rapper, better known to his fans as Sound Sultan, began his career in 1991. Then he began writing lyrics, which was inspired by his elder brother, Baba Dee.

Furthermore, Sultan learned a lot from his elder brother, Baba Dee, who studied Theatre Arts and taught him how to play the guitar. In fact, Sound Sultan later joined the band.
