UNIBEN Wins Africa Outstanding University Award in Rwanda

In Rwanda, the University of Benin was awarded the Africa Excellent University Award of the Year for 2023.

 

Prof. Lilian Salami, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, was also named an Africa Pillar of Education for her contributions to the continent’s educational progress.

 

The honors were presented at the 1st Africa Education Summit, held at the University of Rwanda in Kigali, according to a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, on Saturday in Benin.

 

Prof. Salami, according to Ehanire, was the Vice President of the Association of African Universities, with headquarters in Ghana, in addition to her leadership role in the Council of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities.

 

The vice-chancellor had used this position, according to the public relations officer, to project and promote the successes of several African universities, including the University of Benin.
