Mr Oluwayomi is the MD of Mytcodes. He has over 10 year experience developing websites and web applications (including eCommerce).

With first degree in Applied Mathematics from University of Benin, he preceded to the Robert Gordon University, Scotland, United Kingdom where he bagged a masters’ degree in Software Technology with distinction.

Before his return to Nigeria mid-2013, Oluwayomi worked for different Digital agencies in England and Scotland as web application developer and web designer

As an employee for 7 years in the United Kingdom, he was privileged to work with global brands like Anglia Ruskin University, General Motor (UK), NHS, and Church of England to mention but few.

Mr Yomi: It’s my pleasure to be here and I thank you for having me on board.

Can you please introduce yourself to us?            

Mr. Yomi:  My name is Yomi Ojo and I specialize in IT programming, basically Digital Marketing, I run a company in Lagos, called MYTECODES LIMITED.  We recently developed an application called Schools Compass.

Tell us about your career generally and what prompted you to start the career?

Mr. Yomi: I had my first degree in mathematics, before I went to Scotland to study software technology and I was privileged to work with some great brands in the UK, like marks &Spencer website, chicken ax website and NHS websites. With that, I was able to identify a big gap between Nigeria websites and the way it is in the developed countries.

I travelled abroad for just 3 things, Experience, Exposure and Education. And as soon as I had all the three in full, I took the next available flight to Nigeria.

Where are you from?

Mr. Yomi: I’m from Ilesha in Osun state.

What Motivates You?

Mr. Yomi: The opportunity I find in anything that surrounds me. IT also motivates me.

What do you really want to achieve in your career?                  

Mr. Yomi: I want produce a tool that markets people, project services and serve your clients exactly what they want, that gives value to your clients.

What does your average day look like?

Mr. Yomi: I find myself in between marketing my application and coding. And I oversee my company.

What part of your job do you enjoy the most?

Mr. Yomi: The solution part of it. It gives me joy to see that people problems are solved through my solutions.

What is your worst decision you have ever made?

Mr. Yomi: As an IT person, my worst decision is employing the wrong team to work with me, which almost crushed my business.

What is your greatest achievement so far?

Mr. Yomi: I can confidently say that today, I developed MYTCODES LIMITED, one of the best users friendly commerce website  and the only school marketing platform SCHOOLS COMPASS in Nigeria.

Any Plans for the future?

Mr. Yomi: In the nearest future, I’m looking into having MSI ( Mytcodes Software Institute) and building a software where every graduate who is interested in computer will use and get the best.

Any advice to people interested in IT?

Mr. Yomi: My advice goes to the unemployed graduate out there, In Nigeria, there’s no shortage of Job but shortage of skills, so get something doing learn a skill and develop yourself.
