Taiwo Akande Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, is an Ibadan-based Fuji music singer. He is one of the richest Fuji Music singers in Nigeria.
Early Life
Taye Akande Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, was born on the 17th of December, 1974, to the family of the late Mr. Ganiu Amoo Adebisi and Alhaja Mojisola Aduke Adebisi. He is a Nigerian Fuji music star. He hails from Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state.
Career
Taye began singing as a backup musician for his elder brother, Mr. Sulaiman Akanmu Ademola, commonly known as Commy Jackson, in 1983, when he was 11 years old. During this time, he fully realized his musical talents and began devoting all of his time and energy to them.
To say the least, it was difficult for Taye to advance his musical career because he was continually rejected and told that he had no future in the entertainment industry. He did not, however, let the bad words and rejection get to him; instead, he chose to remain hardworking and attentive in his studies.
During his training, he relocated to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, where he worked as a backup singer for four different brands for two years. He expanded his knowledge by collaborating with Ilu-Pesi at Isale Eko in Lagos State. He worked as an apprentice there while also arranging musical instruments for them.
Taye Currency’s career began at the age of 17 when he formed the “Currency Band” with his twin brother and manager Rahmon Akilapa, who has since died. He’s been doing well in the business. With his family’s support, he began singing at an early age. Currency believes that his personality is the key to his success. Personal Life
Taye Currency married Dara, also known as Ara ’99, in April 2018. According to records, the woman awoke one day and decided to continue the marriage for personal reasons. There is no further information about the singer’s marriage to Dara other than the fact that they had a son, Yusuf Oladeni Adebisi. Meanwhile, in an interview with Encomium magazine, the musician revealed that he has been looking for a new wife since Dara left him. Yusuf, his first son, married in April 2018. Before marrying his wife, Yusuf obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Ilorin.

He attended Aladorin Nursery and Primary School and Hallmark College Apata Ibadan. He then proceeded to Al-Hikma University, Ilorin, Kwara State, where he obtained his first degree in History and International Relations.

In 2018, he landed a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Before joining politics, Yusuf was an astute Businessman interested in Agriculture.
He subsequently grew an interest in politics and, in 2019, contested for and won the Ibadan South-West Constituency 1 Seat under the PDP platform at age 25. The 29-year-old defeated the incumbent Honourable Kehinde Subair of the All Progressives Congress to emerge the winner of the intently contested election.
Taye Currency’s House
In 2018, Taye Currency launched his two-story lavishly furnished building in Ibadan Oyo State. The launch party of the house was attended by many famous Nigerian celebrities, including Yinka Ayefele, Wasiu Ayinde, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Olubada of Ibadan, and Ilorin cleric Alhaji Shehu Buhari, among others.
Upon its completion, the spaciously built property was named the most beautiful mansion and a tourist attraction center in Ibadan. Going by photos, Taye’s mansion looks just like a palace. It has a sizeable swimming pool and other luxurious features. The house is said to be worth hundreds of millions of Naira.
