Dn. Samson Olalere, the Regional Chairman of APGA South West has debunked the rumor ravaging the APGA flag bearer in Ondo State.
It was reported late yesterday by Sunshine Herald and some other dailies that Prince Samuel Ayo Adegbite is the flag bearer of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ondo State but the report reaching Nigeriana shows that Prince Samuel Ayo Adegbite was disqualified and Hon. Adeyemi Alao who was his counterpart at the primaries is the party’s flag bearer.
Nigeriana reporter in a conversation with the Regional Chairman of APGA who is also the Oyo State Chairman and the Chairman of the electoral Committee of the Ondo State primaries, Dn. Samson Olalere, said the report was to cause confusion in the party and they were on top of the situation.
From all indications, Nigeriana gathered that there is foul play going on in APGA and there is a bit of conspiracy going on.
Nigeriana gathered that Prince Adegbite may have been allegedly planted to thwart and create chaos within the party (APGA).
According to the Chairman, Adegbite was disqualified and notice was sent to him. The agents of both candidate signed and they both were notified that Hon. Adegbite has been disqualified. So, there is no reason why his name must appear at the INEC office.
We further gathered that the released list may have been based on the report of the INEC Official present at the primaries. Getting to INEC Abuja, it was discovered that every information there belongs to Hon. Yemi Alao.
Earlier on, Nigeriana covered the presentation of the certificate of return being presented to Hon. Adeyemi Alao at the South-West party secretariat of APGA by the South-West Chairman who is also the Election Committee Chairman. See details here.
Hon. Alao has been presented with the certificate of return with the result sheet and according to the party bigwigs, that is final.
It was also gathered that INEC Ondo did not allegedly wait to get the directive from Abuja to ascertain the candidature of Prince Adegbite before publishing it. Every Media House that published the candidature of Hon. Adegbite got their information from Akure not from Abuja. The certificate of return belongs to Hon. Yemi Alao and he’s been presented with the certificate. Here are copies of certificate of return and result form.
As at the time of filling this report, Nigeriana received infomation from a credible source that the photocopies of the forms have been displayed at the INEC office in Akure within an hour ago showing the rightful candidate of the party (Hon. Adeyemi Alao).
APGA executives and members were encouraged to distance themselves from the rumour,
“please discount all false information regards APGA Governorship Candidate in Ondo State. The list of candidates and photocopies of their forms have just been displayed at the INEC Office in Akure. For APGA, the candidate remain Hon. Francis Adeyemi Alao. All insinuations to the contrary is just mischief by enemies of progress in APGA. This authoritative and confirmed fact. NVC SW”
Going by the INEC time-table, the final list of all candidate will be released on the 19th October.
Until then expect more updates from Nigeriana.org
