Akitoye Balogun is Ajebutter22’s real name. He is a Nigerian rapper and musician. He rose to prominence in 2009 alongside his sister Taymi B as part of the creative hip-hop group Soyinka’s Afro.
Early Life
Ajebutter22 was born on the 1st of June, 1991, in Lagos State, which falls in the South Western part of Nigeria. He had both his primary and secondary education in Lagos State.
Career
In high school, he began to strengthen his rapping abilities by practicing his rapping skills. Later, in Facebook groups, he participated in online ciphers and rap fights with artists such as Ty Magic and Ries. Later, he and his sister Taymi B formed and released music as the family-oriented duo “Soyinka’s Afro.” They debuted their first song, “Storybook Girl,” on the Gidilounge music player, which has received positive internet reviews and features Falz and Echo.
Ajebutter22 released his first mixtape, ‘Death of the Skip Button,’ in 2010. The singles on this mixtape are London Girl to a Lagos Boy, Ko Easy, and She Wants More. From there, the sky was the limit, as their debut mixtape, “Death of the Skip Button,” was released in early 2010 and featured songs like “London Girl to a Lagos Boy,” “Ko Easy,” and “She Wants More.”

David Evans and Pupper Master produced the mixtape at Beautiful Music studios in Northampton, UK, and it received approximately 5,000 downloads through the site. Since then, Ajebutter’s sound has evolved from rap verses with clever wordplay and punchlines to catchy choruses and well-rounded, wholesome songs. In his home studio, he raps in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin and mixes his own tracks.
Personal Life
Much of Ajebutter22’s personal life is not made available online. Taymi B, who is publicly known as Socialajebutterfly, is her sister.
